Biography
Bailey Poching (Ngāti Whatua ki Kaipara, Sāmoa) is an award-winning comedian, improviser, writer and filmmaker, who is fast becoming a fixture in the NZ comedy scene. He was raised in Wakefield, England and now resides in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand. After making his TV debut on The Comedy Mixtape, he has gone on to appear on multiple episodes of New Zealand’s longest running panel show 7 Days. He has appeared in multiple hit New Zealand comedy shows, including Kid Sister, Raised by Refugees and My Favourite Dead Person, and most recently stars in Netflix series ‘North of North.
Poching, alongside Anthony Crum, took home “Best Debut” at the 2023 NZ International Comedy Festival for their outrageous duo show Hot Filthy Garbage!
Their most recent show ‘On The Shoulder of Giants’ made its debut at the NZ International Comedy Festival 2025.
Poching has also performed improv as part of Aotearoa’s most successful improv group Snort as well as their successor improv team Bull Rush which can be found delighting audiences every week at The Basement Theatre in Auckland.
